On safari in Leeds
“Urban Safari” is one of my ongoing projects, with most of the pictures being taken in Lusaka, the Zambian capital. So where does the Yorkshire city of Leeds fit in? Well, two photos from the series are on display there until 26th October 2016. If you’d like details of the group exhibition, including opening times, follow the link to Bright Exhibition at The St James’s Institute of Oncology.
The project was born out of wounded pride, following a trip to South Luangwa National Park. I’d gone there to see the wildlife and take photos, but my pictures from the trip were disappointing. I intend to go back there and try again, but in the meantime you can see more Urban Safari pictures by visiting the Zambia gallery on my main website.
And if you’d like to share your own experience of wildlife photography (positive or negative) please leave a comment.

Has Emu made the trip to Leeds then?
Yes, Terry – together with Leo the lion. They’ll both miss Independence Day in Zambia, which is on 24th October.
I love the ostrich – he seems to be about to say something.
Thanks, Ann – I appreciate.
